The Polish Athletics Association (PZLA) awards certificates and testimonials for athletic stadiums that meet specific technical standards. Thanks to this, facilities can be used to organize official national and international competitions.
Who can apply for a PZLA certificate?
Applications for project review and certificate award are submitted by the investor (or designer on their behalf). The process is divided into several stages – from concept to post-construction analysis and local inspection.
Main stages of the process:
- Submitting an application to PZLA with the architectural concept of the facility.
- Verification and approval of the project by the PZLA Facilities and Equipment Commission.
- Preparation of technical documentation and its acceptance.
- Construction of the facility, including tracks, jumping areas, throwing areas, and markings.
- Post-construction survey by a qualified surveyor.
- Laboratory testing of surfaces – performed by units recommended by PZLA.
- PZLA local inspection – assessment of correct execution and marking.
- Issuance of PZLA Certificate – after positive evaluation and settlement of fees.
Certificates are awarded for a specific period, depending on the type of surface and facility category (III – V).
IAAF Certificate?
If the investor applies for a Class I or II IAAF (World Athletics Federation) certificate, additional documents and laboratory tests in accordance with international standards are required.
National certification
PZLA certificate enables organization of national and regional competitions, depending on the facility category (III-V).
International certification
IAAF Class I and II certificates allow for organization of international competitions, including world and continental championships.
Our role:
We are not a certifying body, but as a contractor:
- we design facilities in accordance with PZLA and IAAF guidelines,
- we cooperate with surveyors and laboratories,
- we ensure that the infrastructure meets all technical requirements.
Thanks to this, the investor has a real basis for applying for a PZLA certificate.
